My Presidential Campaign
Well, today we began our 3rd course in my MPA program, called Public Administration and Democracy. Essentially, it's a 3 week, 24 hour per day simulation that runs pretty crazily. We filled out our surveys that indicated our preferred roles. I thought it'd be good to rank President Bush as one of my top choices; he's someone totally opposite who I am, so it's a natural choice. A bunch of us wanted to be Bush, but they "randomly" selected who would be thrown in a lottery for the role... And, I made the lottery. Now we have to campaign. WHOA!
I never thought I'd say that I want to be President Bush, but... Here we go. My first task, after consulting with a great team of classmates, was to send out an e-mail to my class, asking for support. Check it out:
Greetings!More rabbit tricks tomorrow, when I deliver my speech and other things. =)
Thanks for taking a second to open my e-mail. I come to you as a classmate and a friend asking for your support. I know that you have several choices tomorrow for President Bush, but I’d like to ask you for your vote. I know that I’ll be able to serve the simulation effectively, and I will be available tomorrow if you have any questions about my candidacy.
Thank you, and good luck over the next three weeks!

So, let me get this straight? You and your classmates want to be BUSH?
That's even worse that that crappy show "I wanna be a Hilton." Bush is a terrorist monkey. Why not be someone respectable?
Dan, scary--isn't it? Well, we're deliberately doing the things we don't want to do. Check out the class website. The Masters program here is really kick ass. I can't even begin to tell you how engaging it has been.
anon, thanks for the bookmark! I'll definitely have to buy a 'vette once I finish this Masters degree--ha2!
