Bak in the Bay

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you're on the left side of the airplane, you all have a great view of the San Francisco Bay," the pilot's voice said as we were an hour away from SFO. The window shades were closed, and suddenly, they opened to clear blue skies, a calming blue water, and the diversity of the Bay's nature--the mountains, the fields, the small cities. I was home.

...Only for a while.


Pittsburgh was amazing. PPIA folks, the server is being set up for the photo upload, so stay tuned. More information to come. [Miss you guys!] I never thought that this 7 week program would have changed my life as much as it has. I have some tough decisions to make now... What will I be doing next year? Should I devote myself strictly to my academics? Should I help out as much as I said I would? It scares me that there are so many opportunities available to me after becoming a PPIA fellow. For those of you who will be Juniors next year or after, or for those of you who will be 5th years: check the program out. It kicks ass, you make friends that will last you a lifetime, and your whole life--it changes.


Japan exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to be a 10. I knew that it was going to be a 10. But man... It was a 12. The people there are hospitable. Immediately after stepping off the plane, you could feel the welcoming attitude from the Japanese. It's safe. No terror warnings, no worries about people murdering me on the street at 2am. It's safe, and people will always say sorry ("go-men-o-sai") whenever they bump into you. The culture is amazing... Fashion kicks ass in Tokyo. People can wear whatever they want... Cell phones are amazing. I want to go back!!!

...And, I think I am.

Heads up, folks... In about 3 weeks, I'll (hopefully) be gone again. On "The Sex Tour": Tokyo, Singapore/Taiwan, and the Philippines. Whoode whoo!!! [Yes, be jealous.]

But for now, I'll be in the Bay and the Cruz. So, jes call the cell or AIM me or my phone if you wanna get together... I'm back in the Bay, folks!
